Our Techniques

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our judgment and years of experience.

The primary adjusting techniques we use include:

Think of an adjustment as “tuning” a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.

Class 4 Heat Laser

What does it do?
High Dosage Laser Therapy from DIOWAVE offers a powerful new solution for numerous painful conditions previously refractive to traditional medical care. Laser therapy is a highly effective alternative to traditional therapies such as cortisone injections and many times even surgery for a wide range of problems. It helps by decreasing inflammation, decreasing pain (analgesic), improving vascular activity and accelerating tissue repair and cell growth.

Feel the difference
In sharp contrast to “Cold Lasers” (LLT or Low Level Laser Therapy) which provides no feeling or sensation, patients can feel a profound sense of warmth with each DIOWAVE laser therapy treatment, as it works to provide penetrating laser light energy deep into the body to reach damaged cells and tissues. Results are typically faster than many other therapeutic modalities. Improvement can often be seen after the first or second treatment.

Clinical studies and research using laser therapy technology indicate the following beneficial effects of laser therapy on tissues and cells:

Anti-Inflammation
Laser therapy has an anti-edemic effect as it causes vasodilation, but also because it activates the lymphatic drainage system (drains swollen areas). As a result, there is a reduction in swelling caused by bruising or inflammation.

Anti-Pain (Analgesic)
Laser therapy has a highly beneficial effect on nerve cells which block pain transmitted by these cells to the brain and which decreases nerve sensitivity. Also, due to less inflammation, there is less edema and less pain. Another pain blocking mechanism involves the production of high levels of pain killing chemicals such as endorphins and enkephalins from the brain and adrenal gland.

Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth
Photons of light from lasers penetrate deeply into the tissue and accelerate cellular reproduction and growth. The laser light increases the energy available to the cell so that the cell can take on nutrients faster and get rid of waste products. As a result of exposure to laser light, the cells of tendons, ligaments, and muscles are repaired faster.

Improved Vascular Activity
Laser light will significantly increase the formation of new capillaries in damaged tissue that speeds up the healing process, closes wounds quickly, and reduces scar tissue. Additional benefits include acceleration of angiogenesis, which causes temporary vasodilation, an increase in the diameter of the blood vessels.

Increased Metabolic Activity
Laser therapy creates higher outputs of specific enzymes, greater oxygen and food particle loads for blood cells.

Trigger Points and Acupressure Points
Laser therapy stimulates muscle trigger points and acupressure points on a non-invasive basis providing musculoskeletal pain relief.

Reduced Fibrous Tissue Formation
Laser therapy reduces the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from cuts, scratches, burns, or surgery.

Improved Nerve Function
Slow recovery of nerve functions in damaged tissue can result in numbness and impaired limbs. Laser light will speed up the process of nerve cell reconnection and increase the amplitude of action potentials to optimize muscle action.

Immunoregulation
Laser light has a direct effect on immunity status by stimulation of immunoglobines and lymphocytes. Laser therapy is absorbed by chromophones (molecule enzymes) that react to laser light. The enzyme flavomono-nucleotide is activated and starts the production of ATP (adenosine-tri-phosphate), which is the major carrier of cell energy and the energy source for all chemical reactions in the cells.

Faster Wound Healing
Laser light stimulates fibroblast development (fibroblasts are the building blocks of collagen, which is predominant in wound healing) in damaged tissue. Collagen is the essential protein required to replace old tissue or to repair tissue injuries. As a result, laser therapy is effective on open wounds and burns.

Massage Therapy

Massage not only feels great, but it is also very beneficial for the body and a great compliment to spinal manipulation (chiropractic adjustment). The benefits of massage are endless, from improving sleep and reducing anxiety to lowering blood pressure and increasing range of motion. When paired with a chiropractic adjustment, the benefits of massage are often felt for a longer period of time. Vice versa, massage can help prepare the body for an adjustment and extends the benefits of the adjustment by effecting the musculoskeletal system and loosening the muscles responsible for pulling the spine out of alignment. A combined treatment approach involving massage therapy and chiropractic care helps properly maintain and protect the body to enhance it’s natural ability to heal, and in reward, achieving overall wellness.

Dry Needling

Is a technique we use on particularly stubborn, dysfunctional muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. It involves inserting a very thin needle into the soft tissue. The needle signals the body to increase blood flow and healing cells to the area being needled. We use it on areas of chronic inflammation, scar tissue, tight muscles and fascia, and trigger points in muscles. We don’t use this technique one everyone, but it can be very effective when used on the right patient. Dry needling is NOT the same as acupuncture. The needles are similar, but where and why the needles are placed in an area are very different.

Intersegmental Traction

We gently add motion to each vertebral joint to increase circulation, reduce scar tissue and enhance the effectiveness of your adjustments.read more»

Acoustic Wave Therapy

Acoustic Wave Therapy is a Non-Invasive Pain Relieving Therapy that is widely used in the treatment of acute and chronic pain in muscles, tendons, and joints.

Massage Chairs

While you’re waiting to see the doctor, please make yourself at home/take advantage of our relaxing massage chairs. The chairs have many customization options, including a calf massager so you can tailor the massage just for you.

Diversified

After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints. read more»

Pro-AdjusterTM

Our computerized instrument will analyze and adjust your spine, tapping on each vertebra, “listening” as each one assumes a healthier disposition. read more»

Extremities

While many health problems can be traced to the spine, wrists, elbows, shoulders, knees other joints of the body can be helped.read more»

Decompression

Our specially-equipped table will ever-so-slowly stretch your spine. And then relax it. Stretch. And relax. Excellent for disc cases.read more»

Cupping

Cupping involves placing suction cups on specific points on the body to reduce inflammation, reduce pain, increase blood flow, stimulate healing, increase range of motion, and promote relaxation. The negative pressure of the cups is nearly painless, and most people even enjoy the gentle pulling sensation.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

We use this special type of low level electrical current to stimulate supporting muscles of your spine, reducing inflammation and spasm.read more»

Trigger Point

By applying direct pressure or stretching of the affected muscle, we can reduce muscle spasms and flush out pooled blood and accumulated toxins.read more»

Percussion Massage

Is a powerful and effective muscle relaxing technique used by our doctors. The combination of pressure and vibration is perfect for working out tight “knots” and relaxing tight muscles.

Kinesiology Taping

Is a thin, stretchy tape that is applied directly to the skin. It helps support the joints during activity, but does not limit the range of motion while a person is moving. The tape can also be used after surgery or injury to provide support while healing. We can also use kinesiology tape to help with postural training.

TRX

The TRX suspension trainer is the original, best-in-class workout system that leverages gravity and your bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. You’re in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise- because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance.

Benefits:

  • Improve mobility and flexibility
  • Build lean muscle
  • Develop functional strength
Power Plate

Engineered precisely to apply the body’s natural reflective response to vibration, Power Plate technology uses a vibrating platform, which moves 25-50 times per second, resulting in corresponding muscle activation. The vibrations are harmonic, which are safe, consistent, and controlled levels of vibration, moving in three directions (up and down, forwards and backwards, and side to side).

Whole body vibration has been shown to aid in the regeneration of energy, skin, mind and body, coordination, and skill development. Clinical research with elderly and aging populations has shown improved balance, circulation, and locomotion with use of whole body vibration.

Foot Levelers

Problems in your feet can create compensatory problems in back and neck. These custom orthotics can make a dramatic difference.read more»
